Call for Art

Curator of American Art & Arts of the Americas, Mead Art Museum, Amherst College

Lisa Crossman is the Curator of American Art and Arts of the Americas at the Mead Art Museum at Amherst College. She had previously held the position of both Koch Curatorial Fellow and AssociateCurator at the Fitchburg Art Museum.

Crossman received her M.A. and Ph.D.in Art History and Latin American Studies at Tulane University.

RODDY SHOW PRIZE MONEY: $3,000

 

ELIGIBILITY

Open to all artists and mediums, MEMBERS & NON-MEMBERS, and all media accepted (2D, 3D, video).

Work must have been completed within the last three years and not previously shown at Concord Art.
Artists may become members by following the ‘Membership’ link on concordart.org.

SPECIFICATIONS

Artwork (all mediums) cannot exceed 60”in any direction (including frame/display units). 3D work must be stable. 2D work must be firmly wired for hanging. Please, no saw tooth hangers and no sandwich/clip frames.

For accepted video, provide a viewing monitor and play in a continuous loop. We can only accept work adhering to these specifications.

 ENTRY PROCEDURES

MEMBERS may submit up to four pieces at $15. per piece.

NON-MEMBERS may submit up to two pieces at  $25. per piece.

These fees are non-refundable.

ONLINE REGISTRATION and ENTRY STEPS:

  1. Register yourself and pay your entry fees using the provided link in the side bar.
  2. After you register, you will receive a confirmation email at the email used in registration.  In that email there will be an attached link to a Google Forms submission page.
  3. Upload your images (one image for each entry) and provide the following: Title, Media, Year of Completion and Sale Price.

*Be sure that images are in .jpg or.png form. Images should be ready for publication, no smaller that 300 dpi.

*Concord Art reserves the right to use images of your   work for publicity purposes.

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE

Accepted artists will be posted at concordart.org on Friday, September 12th 2020 after  9pm

DROP-OFF & SHIPPING PROTOCOL

Due to evolving circumstances with Covid-19, we are certain that we can have an incredible virtual show, with innovative marketing, videos,  juror participation and other surprises. 🙂 And, in the event that we are able to physically install your work in our gallery and present the exhibition to the public safely, artists will be required to drop off or ship work.

If you need to ship, you will be responsible for round-trip shipping & insurance. Concord Art is not responsible for damage or loss during shipping. All shipments must in clude a prepaid UPS return label. Work sent through the US Postal Service, must include a pre-paid shipping label, USPS stamps will not be accepted.

Packaging materials must be suitable to re-use for return shipping.

ONLINE OPENING AND AWARD CEREMONY with Lisa Crossman and Gibbs Roddy will be Friday, September 25that 7pm.

ARTIST PAYMENTS

After the close of the show all art sales are paid immediately.  Artist will receive 2/3 of the sale price and Concord Art will receive 1/3.

INSURANCE

Concord Art carries a blanket policy covering fire, theft and breakage at 100% of the sale price. Concord Art insurance covers the work of an artist during the course of the exhibition only. Concord Art will not assume responsibility for work left after any designated pick up dates.
