New artist website. I find struggling to build a new web site is like struggling with a painting…but worse. Finishing it is gratifying–thrilling actually–but as with a painting, you’ve got to keep doing more. Nonetheless, you have to freeze the moment and say “Here it is!”. So, here it is…
Irene Stapleford will have a solo show of paintings at the Weston Public Library Art Gallery, 87 School Street, Weston, throughout January 2017. Opening reception Sunday, Jan. 8, 2-4 p.m. I consider myself a painter, but have also been influenced by my graphic design work, finding much to explore in the intersection of paint and imaging software.
My monotype triptych, Inaudible Image/Invisible Sound, was juried into the 2016 RED Biennial, University Place Gallery, Nov. 8 – Dec. 21, 2016. Holly Harrison has a piece in the Fay Chandler Emerging Artist Exhibition (September 28-October 28) at Scollay Square Gallery on the 3rd Floor of Boston City Hall. The opening reception is Thursday, October 6, 6-8pm.
The work of artist Marina Thompson will be on display at the Hammond Hall Art Gallery at Fitchburg State University through October 26, part of the university’s CenterStage arts and culture series. Come to the Cambridge Art Association’s Mary Schein Fall Salon Opening Reception at University Place Gallery tonight, Friday, September 9, 2016 at UNIVERSITY PLACE GALLERY, 124 Mt Auburn Street, Harvard Square, 5:30—7:30. I painted “Circling the Seine” during a 2014 residency in France. The Seine was my daily companion, biking, painting, dreaming.
