Pushing Color Pastel Workshop
All Levels
Shelly Eager

Shelly Eager’s love of pastel comes from the luminosity and vividness of the colors. Shellyshelly_eager will teach you to “push” color and put down bold confident marks to help you turn an ordinary photo into an extraordinary painting. You will work in the classroom from your own photos. Students are encouraged to remember the feelings evoked by the scene in the photograph, the energy of the place and the weather experienced. Shelly will teach you how to put those impressions down on paper, because she believes that expressing the memory is more exciting than merely reproducing a photo. Bring photos of everyday life that have special meaning to you: city scenes, country fairs, restaurant scenes, parties…whatever brings up a memory or impression that you would like to capture with pastel on paper. Students can take one day (Saturday) or both days. See Shelly’s work at www.shellyeager.com.
