Artist’s Critique Group
Merill Comeau, Coordinator
Come join this class to explore the critique group experience. At the first meeting, artists will share what they would like to gain from the group and to establish participation guidelines. All participants are expected to both share work and offer constructive feedback to others. Each session will focus on a few artists and their work. Participants must be practicing artists with a body of work to share and committed to the time requirements. There will be an opportunity to continue this group depending on demand. Maximum 10-12 artists.
Merill Comeau has a studio at ArtSpace in Maynard, MA. She
has extensive experience as a group facilitator and has the organizational skills and artistic background to run an active
and productive critique group. She works on a large scale, with mostly reclaimed fiber. She collages, prints, and paints her fabrics, and recreates them in stunning images of nature. To see her work go to www.merillcomeau.com.

Fresh Ways with Oil and Acrylic
All Levels
Emily Passman
Whether you are an experienced or a new painter, a goal is often to loosen up, use larger
brushes, attain more vibrant colors and paint the essence of something, as opposed to depicting it. In this class, the focus is to remain true to what you see, to use it as a
reference, as a jumping off place, and then make it your own. Through drawing exercises, and "immediate" paint sketches, you will loosen up, trust your eye, and create pieces that will surprise you! Emily creates a hardworking, yet informal atmosphere, encourages larger canvases and assists you in becoming an artist with deeper expression. Class ends with a critique and informal discussion. Emily’s website is www.emilypassman.com.
