 The Veil Series

The Veil Series is an ongoing series of unique chromo-skedasic prints which are composed, painted, and drawn on black and white multi-grade RC photographic paper, using color photo chemicals as well as standard black and white developer and fixer. (The term “chromo-skedasic”, derived from Greek roots, means color by light-scattering.) I was introduced to this procedure a few years ago when a friend showed me an article published in Scientific American by Dominic Man-Kit Lam and Alexandra J. Boran on chromoskedasic painting. I was fascinated by the process because it requires a combination of discipline, experimentation, and imagination, making possible a wonderful balance between control and surprise.

The prints are mounted on aluminum with a protective UV coating.
