Permanent Collection

Concord Art’s permanent collection includes a variety of paintings, drawings and sculpture acquired by our founder, Elizabeth Wentworth Roberts. Elsie, as her friends knew her, had a fine eye as an art buyer and knew many of the artists represented in the collection. Over the years, friends of Concord Art have made additions to the collection, with the oversight of an active collections committee.

Concord Art collects works by EWR and other artists who have had a direct influence and bearing on the organization. If you are aware of work that should be included, we invite you to call our director, Kate James at 978-369-2578.

The opening of the secure, climate-controlled collections storage area as part of our addition and renovation to the Ball House in November 2009 underlines Concord Art’s commitment to the preservation of its art and archival material.

Concord Center for the Visual Arts maintains an active loan program, as well as an ongoing research program into the collections and artists.
